quarter

I'm a quarter done with my JC life, more or less, and I don't know how I feel about it exactly. JC's been good, and although at times I doubt my decision to go to RJ (and not going back to the AC family instead), I realise how blessed I am to have met my new friends and classmates and acquaintances.

so here is what happened on the last day of school/friday

ROCK OUT 2013 - it was such an experience. I've never been to an actual concert before, and this was a pretty dang good eye-opener. Moshed like crazy, I was initially sandwiched between loads of tall guys (disadvantage of being a short person) but my classmates were lovely anyway, and they tried to move us shorter people in front so we could see without straining our necks :") After the intermission, went to look for mendu. She had a really really good spot right in front of the stage, no obstructions!!!! And it was a dang good time just dancing, jumping, and singing along at the top of our voices.
The lighting was amazing as well. AMAZING TIME IN GENERAL.

Back to MG in the late morning to afternoon, to indulge ourselves in familiar faces and the warm fuzzy feeling we always get when we go back home to MG. I know I've said this a million times, but MG will always be home, my family will always be there. Can't imagine a life without my batchies/juniors/teachers, they've always been there for me in my four years in MG - and they continue to be even as I have left.
MG's shaped the person I am today, whether it is because of the lessons imparted by the people I have met, or the values inculcated in me through the school culture - I wouldn't be half the person I am today if I weren't an MG girl.
Yup. Sort of helped out at Sec 1 CIP, they brought cute little nursery & kindy kids in, after which we sat in an LTC training session for a bit. (PBSL CAMP HERE WE COME) Always good to be home, where I know I'm wanted HAHA. I like doing favours for my teachers, because they've done so much for us anyway.

Presenting you my gorjuz classmates

Lady Windemere's Fan with the classmates! (funny photos taken from Leemz's camera) had a really good night watching the production and going around with my classmates and taking pictures. The production was really well put up, and yeah it was a really good night in general :----))) don't regret giving LTC finale night a miss for this, even though half of my heart wanted to be at LWF and the other half wanted to stay for LTC.

Finally, I'm so proud of this boy heehee LORD WINDEMERE, I know it wasn't an easy task at all, and you did a dang amazing job. One of my best friends/best big brother ever given such a short time, thank you for always having my back, I'll always have yours :') so, so, so blessed.

Goodnight, I need to spend my june holidays studying for CTs.
I NEED TO HAVE A LIFE TOO.

you are what you love not who loves you

chinz and I have hereby declared good photo week/month/year. here's to (trying to, at least) take really good looking photos and *documenting the days*
I hope I've been doing a good job so far.

1. digging through old notes to look for a formula sheet, found these from my two years of hardcore history
2. my brother holding a bag of famous amos, yum.
3. attempting to study + discovering save rock & roll on spotify
4. the toy that came with chin's kinder surprise - we had fun playing with it during lit (it squirts water hahaha)
5. bag of fruit taffy from the US that viggy brought back for us :-)
6. my brother got this for his birthday, and i decided to read it tonight. Mitch Albom's a good writer, I'm glad Mrs Lau got me to read Have A Little Faith like ages ago in 2011.
7. leftover chunk of oreo cheesecake I baked for my brother's birthday (success - other than the slightly burnt base)
8. oat krunch my loooove.
9. chinz hard at work HAHA
10. the classmates playing floorball at the amphi during pe :-)
11. chinz my model
12. blast from the past - my super faded ROCs1 shirt. It feels comfy though, i'm wearing it now. sigh, missing the mg days.
13. dinner on sunday
14. the kitchen @ grandma's
15. cool school shoos.

going for rock out tomorrow at scape with the classmates, I'm so excited. (I'm trying to bring as little things school as possible) Plus, it's the last day of the semester tomorrow, the school holidays start early for us hoooraaayyy. going back to visit mg (partially because there's ltc going on heeheeee) on friday, before slacking + dinner + lwf with the classmates :-) i'm excited to see ejaz act in lwf :-)

hooked on three new albums - demi (by demi hahaha), save rock & roll and native. i never tire of listening to mirrors too.

you are what you love, not who loves you

may flowers

I'm tired.
Okay, I'm still quite glad for school and for new friends and everything, more than glad, I am thankful that I have been blessed with such people around me.
Already making plans for the holidays (despite the crazy amount of work we have to do because CTs are right after June holidays which sucks because I really wanted to enjoy my June holidays) eg. shopping with ejaz, chilling + swimming + studying with chinz, sending the UK trippers off with ejaz & benben and hobo-ing around the airport. So grateful for good people.
But JC has lost its novelty and it's getting tiring to drag myself to school everyday.
I also suck a lot at math HAHAHA I SUCK SO BAD AT MATH (not like I didn't in secondary school, I kind of did but it was less of a problem than it is now) and I really need to catch up on my studying and all and I really want to do well for CTs so it'll be easier for me to try out to be an OGL and everything.
mmmmmm.

It's always good to visit home, though. Went back to MG last week and got to see + help Mrs Lau for half the afternoon, and then spent the other half of the afternoon in the staffroom (trying to do/) doing my bio tutorial.

matching asian-eyed sibling smile with simon ft. creeper vig and his classic rape face HAHAHA
(also, si is not actually this short. He is much taller he just bent down so that we could be of more equal height HAHAHAHA)

friday camwhores whoohooo whaddupppp
Fridays are also sit-with-jaz-and-chinz-through-3-blocks-of-tutorials days and classrooms-are-so-cold-we-use-heatpacks days and pee-with-chinz-in-secret-haunted-toilet-before-math-lecture days :")

amanda sarah chinzzzz i love you bbg heehee :") :-*

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK (part of) 3S IN THE PARK
love you guys, thanks for an amaaazing 4 months of love and crazy so far

I should take more photos all day everyday

april showers

let's look back on the month of april.

firstly, and probably the most impactful thing that has happened in april - my own taste of what it would have been like to get into council. Campaigning was crazy insane, staying up till 4AM on Friday night, going to school at 7AM the next day, spending the whole day on posters and photos and videos and speeches until we went crazy. I was, and still am, ultra thankful for my team mates, Megan & Arjun because they are both crazy good people, and they made 3 hours of sleep and two full days of work bearable and interesting :') And also we went for match support, and I actually enjoyed it hahaha cheering for the water polo girls and stuff. (also because we got to miss bio but oops 2 hours of tutorial like seriously who can stand that)
needless to say I was so disappointed when I didn't get into council. Because you see, the odds of getting in were 76 out of 87 people. That's a good 80+% chance, but then no. And gosh it was a terrible feeling.

But what I got out of the whole thing? That above all God's plan prevails. God goes against all odds (whether they are for you or against you), His will above all. That really, I'm just waiting for Him to put me in somewhere He really wants me to be, even though it's not where I want to be. And that I have the sweetest friends on earth. (remember, at the heart of it all, it was never for the title)

2 years (++) later and I am, and will always be thankful to have (had) you in my life. thank you for helping me to be the person I am today. I don't know what I would've done (what I would do) without you.

(nothing else exciting actually happens in april. not that I can remember, anyway)

school has dulled into a routine.
I sleep through mass lectures (ie, Math & Chem ALTHOUGH I REALLY SHOULDN'T BE but after a while I just zz z z z z zzz). 3S takes every opportunity to smuggle food into class/lectures "the other class is taking notes. We're taking food" my classmates are pigs and I love them for being pigs :")
then there are tutorials, assignments, class tests, lecture tests. Gosh I'm still partially in my post Os nothing to do-go out all day kinda mood. Catch up with work, edlyn.
JC is somehow a lot more draining than secondary school. Studying for mid years/prelims/Os was less tiring than this (also because I took like 2 hour naps at our usual study bench after lunch e v e r y d a y/I fell asleep studying very often HAHA) Anyway, I somehow feel incredibly tired whenever I get home.
I'm thankful for the good company in school though, usually I just laugh until my stomach hurts.
also NAPFA was so ache-inducing. I miss running with kris for 2.4, heehee :'(

enjoy some glamorous photos

haven't blogged in nearly a month - a new record for me! HAHA this is terrible, I'm not keeping track of my JC life. But I guess I come home everyday really tired and stuff, but yes. RJ's been really really good to me, and given the chance, I wouldn't have changed the choices that I've made for anything.
God is faithful, truly He is. He has placed amazing people in my way, really good friends that I've made in my short first two months of my JC life, people who are willing to listen to me, willing to support me and I'm so so thankful to Him, blessed to have them. I should be "feeling the heat" of JC right about now, but I don't feel like dying, not just yet I would think. In the sense that, I look forward to going to school every morning because of my friends, and I'm glad I chose to do BCML (and not History oh dear THANK GOODNESS + grace + ayn I didn't take history) because they are really subjects I love.

but i'm starting to feel the exhaustion creeping in, somehow days in JC just wear me out more than they did in MG. and I guess I expected it, but its been great nonetheless. I've gotta start studying more though, hahaha............ I'll pick up my drive again :-) I hope.

infinitely proud of my bbjuniors, y'all did an amazing job through and through, and I love & miss you guys so much. enjoyed bandage entirely yay!

should totally blog more often. heehee. anyway, long weekend!

"But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities
the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds, we are healed"
Isaiah 53:5

I was so in love with this verse when I read it (again, because i've read Isaiah before I REALLY LIKE THE BOOK OF ISAIAH hee but that was so long ago aiya my memory) during christian fellowship on Wednesday morning. It was a real reminder to me that God's love is above all our circumstances, that Jesus would go through such pains and lengths to free us of our sin, an ultimate display of grace and love. We remember how Jesus died on the cross for us on Good Friday, only to rise again on Easter Sunday.
SO GUYS remember that above all, God loves you, and that Jesus was willing to die on the cross for each and every single one of us. :")

Friday, March 1, 2013

amazing friday, HAHA, I can't express how thankful I am for my classmates + the circle :') they make mundane school routines a lot of fun, tons more interesting :')

started off the day with GP, hahaha Mr Cheong (aka Coach Cheong after the whole inter-class captains' ball yesterday HAHAHA "I told the CT of the other class that half my class are national youth captains' ball players"/"Guys, I know this is a friendly match....... but I want you to maim them.") returned us our diagnostics and went through essay structures while eating his breakfast of a sandwich and water dismally and telling us stories of pizza-for-breakfast-during-his-college-days HAHAHA.
also, manda brought her HSM2 notepad for fang & i today HAHAHA (last friday i was listening to HSM songs on fang's phone so HAHA)
PW zzzzfest hehehe :/
we finished off cell structure for bio, and we had some sort of a test thingy which was kinda well alright I guess but I was so sleepy I wanted to die HAHAHA. z z z z z
Math lecture was hilarious though because Ms Lim taught the reciprocal graphs thing in tutorial so we understood (THANK GOD FOR A GOOD MATH TEACHER WHOM I CAN UNDERSTAND HAHA) already and it was the last lesson of the week and everything......... so practically all of us were on the class whatsapp group talking complete rubbish HAHAHA we were laughing so hard the row was shaking HAHAHA.

CAKING SURPRISE AFTER SCHOOL hahaha we bought a cake for cassia to welcome her to the class so we caked her and ate cake and stuff HAHA. Went to J8 with Fang & Alison after school for subway lunch (SUBWAY AGAIN HAHA had subway on wednesday w alison & ejaz but oh well) and we actually ate and went back to school straightaway to look for ejaz......
ended up slacking in the canteen w fang manda alison & viggy HAHAHA IT WAS HILARIOUS. we were listening to music from my phone and viggy picks all the manly-ish songs on my phone like fall out boy & imagine dragons but when fang got to pick the songs he was all for six degrees of separation "GUYS SHHHHH SHUT UP LISTEN LISTEN TO THIS SONG" and he sang it with such gusto & also some Taylor Swift like "LOVING HIM WAS LIKE DRIVING IN A MASERATI DOWN A DEAD END STREET" HAHAHAHAHA.
also we wrote a card to ejaz :') Laughed so much coming up with things to write in the card HAHAHA and travelled all the way to the PAC and crashed some dramafeste briefing to pass it to him :') I love my screwed up kids so much okay. Had so much fun laughing and chilling (though I couldn't go back to MG)
went for LBA interview with manda, and basically we were chilling for at least an hour before we went in for our turn. We spent that hour laughing so hard at what went down during math lecture and earlier that afternoon. Also, manda edited viggy's mugshot with like 10 different moustache styles and 3 different hairstyles so viggy's look ranged from that of a serial killer to a prata man HAHAHAHA we sat and laughed so hard :")
Interview was alright! :-) Because our interviewer was really nice and friendly and it wasn't an awkward affair HAHAHA except for the *incident*. Took a train down to botanics with manda so my dad could pick me up from there :')

GOOD DAY GREAT COMPANY. Thank God so so much for putting such amazing people in my life in RJ, I miss MG so much but it's all good here too :') fantastic way to start march :')
x

Monday, February 25, 2013

So we've been getting along on our legit timetable, with lectures and tutorials in their full glory. Can't say it's the most relaxed schedule ever, but somehow the day doesn't feel as draggy as it did in secondary school, and I'm thankful for the company in school.

got to school early this morning despite protected time (ie, school starts at 9.40, but I got to school at 7+) sat around and did a bit of work at raja block before fangshuo & ejaz came, helped me pack my things and we moved over to the windy benches HAHA. We did some legit work, I finished a part of my lit worksheet with ejaz, and fangshuo was lying around doing his work HAHA.
HAHA it was funny when we told ejaz that dui = ahem in chinese and he literally went round asking everyone in the area whether or not it was true HAHAHA. went to the canteen to get some food (being scorned for my eating habits YET AGAIN. On a side note, I really like the apple bread it's so yumz hehe) before school started, and walked around school a bit too HAHA it was a fun morning with the two retards :')

started off the day with a bio lecture, hm, it was alright! The lecturer was having a lot of fun teasing simon though it was q funny HAHA. and after bio lecture, we had a lot of free time because our lit tutor was late so this was what we did in class:

mega love for my class seriously, (': 14S03S on the way to becoming best class ever HAHA

anyway our lit tutor came HAHA so we proceeded with lessons. She finally gave out a prose for us to assess it was the best thing ever I MISS MY PROSES HAMANA.
chem lecture omg mega stoning during chem lecture HAHAHA damn. we learnt new things though! balancing redox reactions, its a lot of steps to remember aaah so hard but I love chem whoo. lunch after that was good HAHA gave my food away to fangsuho because I can't finish and since manda went home to get her things, she da-baoed fries for the whole class YUM YUM FATS HAHAHAA but omg seriously so yumz yet so guilty.
CHEM PRAC LAST LESSON OF THE DAY!!!!! We did titration though aaah titration the bane of my existence back to haunt me after Sec 4 HAHA. I'm so bad at it now, LACK OF PRACTICE HAHAHA. The chem labs are probably the only rooms in RJ with no air conditioning, and the temperature was so nice and warm and sleep-inducing z z zzzzz.
did some work with viggy, alison, maddie & fangshuo (who takes my things so often i'm q used to it HAHAHAHA) (before they had to go for basketball anyways) before going for the council briefing! did the chem prac + chem and stuff.
the council briefing was a little intimidating, but then again, MG has trained us to pass any uniform checks that may come our way HAHAHA once you've passed MG spotchecks YOU HAVE PASSED THEM ALL HAHAHA I do miss MG. AH i really want council so bad God please help me HAHA dang :(((((  talked to berenice and adeline while waiting for my dad to pick me up, it was nice! (:

ok i'm tired goodnight HAHA
